The Story

Cut for the warm hour.

The Mistral is the cream suit of the line. A lightweight Italian wool, soft-shouldered, half-canvassed — built to keep its line through a long lunch in the south.

It is named for the wind that comes down through Provence and clears the sky over the Riviera. After the mistral, the sea is at its bluest, and a cream jacket reads almost white against it. The cloth is meant for that hour.

Open patch pockets, soft shoulder, no shoulder pad to speak of. Three fittings. Pairs with a pale shirt and no tie, or with a knit polo for the rehearsal dinner.

It is a summer suit, kept simple.
