Cassis Dinner Jacket

The Cassis is the cream dinner jacket with the black-bound shawl. The cloth is a fine Italian wool; the lapel is bound by hand in narrow black silk satin. Worn with a midnight trouser, it reads as black tie that is a little easier with itself.

We named it for the port east of Marseille — quieter than its neighbours, white limestone cliffs falling straight into the water. The black line on a cream jacket comes from the same instinct: one mark, where it is needed, and nothing else.

Soft shoulder, half-canvas, single covered button. Three fittings. The trouser carries no braid; the line is on the jacket alone.

It is the ceremony jacket for the dinner that follows the swim.
