The Story
Where the water slows.
The Rivière is the side-draped column of the line. A heavy Italian silk satin, strapless, with a single gather caught at the hip and falling diagonally to the hem.
Rivière means river. We borrowed the line from the small rivers that meet the sea on the Côte d'Azur — the Var, the Loup, the Roya — where the cold water from the mountains slows just before it disappears. The drape is its echo: cloth gathered at one side, then released.
The gather is set on the body in the third fitting, then sewn down by hand in over a hundred small stitches. The bodice is built on a half-corselette. A single back zip, set in by hand.
It is a quiet dress, with one moment of movement.
