The Story
Off the shoulder, by design.
The Impératrice is the off-shoulder gown of the line. A double-faced Italian silk crepe, draped across the chest to a soft V, fitted through the bodice and falling clean to the floor.
We named it for Cap Martin — for the empress who wintered there long after the empire was gone, walking the path between the pines and the sea most mornings of her later life. The neckline is a quiet borrow from her portraits: shoulder uncovered, line unbroken.
The drape is set on the body in the second fitting, then sewn down by hand. The bodice is built on a half-corselette. A single back zip, set in by hand. No belts, no embellishment.
It is meant for an entrance that doesn't need to announce itself.
